About Us

New Brunswickers spend $2.6 billion on food each year, almost all of which is imported. We currently grow only 8% of the vegetables we need, and we have lost production over many years as cheaper imports have entered the marketplace.

Cooperation in Agri-Food New Brunswick (CANB) was created to facilitate the aggregation, storage, distribution, sales, and marketing of New Brunswick agri-food products. In essence, we enable New Brunswick agri-food producers to reach wholesale, retail, and institutional markets that would be difficult to access on their own, thus moving local foods into mainstream markets.

CANB is a non-profit co-operative with key stakeholders: the Agricultural Alliance of NB, Carrefour Communautaire Beausoleil, the Atlantic Canadian Organic Regional Network, Collectif économique d’innovation culturelle et identitaire, National Farmers Union – NB, L’Action Péninsule Objectif Manger Mieux-être, Really Local Harvest Co-op, Terroir Foods & Agrimarketing and Réseau des Cafétérias Communautaires.

What we do

Aggregation & Planning

We work directly with the local producers so we know what they grow and make. We also help them plan their season ahead which allows them to operate more sustainably and offer local markets competitive price. See our online market.

Storage & Handling

Quality and safety is our top priority, so we make sure the products are kept at the right temperature for optimal freshness. We also offer affordable temperature controlled storage for producers who need it. Contact us for details.

Pick Up & Distribution

We offer pick-up and delivery services. With our distribution partners across the province, we are able to reach almost anywhere in New Brunswick. You want local food? We got it. Contact us today.
